Gavel Alaska is a flagship program covering the Alaska state legislature. As one of the primary venues for KTOO’s visual branding, it merited its own re-branding process to complement the organizational brand.
Logo
Gavel Alaska’s old logo was not only dated, but was difficult to display with sufficient contrast and evoked a retired channel logo.
I redesigned the logo to use custom lettering evoking a feeling of stability and mirroring the station’s logo. The new design lends itself to flexibility and readability in usage online and on the air.
Graphics
The broadcast graphics for Gavel Alaska require flexibility while also fulfilling the brand goal of consolidating brand equity under the station brand.
I designed an identity system for Gavel Alaska and produced graphics to implement it throughout the program’s on air needs.
